Michael Bisping is impressed that Jake Paul is planning to fight at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.
Paul has embarked on a career in the boxing ring using his social media platform to secure big fights, including a mega-event with 58-year-old legend Mike Tyson on November 15.
The ‘Problem Child’ has always been brash and ambitious about his career, and recently declared his intentions to represent Team USA in their home Olympics in Los Angeles in the next four-year cycle.
But UFC legend Bisping, who has been outspoken on Paul’s career, has surprisingly suggested it is a good idea despite the possibility of defeat.
“You know what, I’ve actually got a lot of respect for (that idea),” he said on his YouTube channel.

“If he did go and fight in the Olympics, well first of all it wouldn’t be his promotion so he wouldn’t be able to cherry-pick opponents.
“He wouldn’t be able to take people that are way past their sell-by date like Mike Tyson, who is 58 years old.
“The last time Jake Paul fought someone his own size and weight, we know that he lost.
“I’m not here to s*** on Jake Paul, fair play to him, I hope he does go to the Olympics, that’s what I wanna see and I’d really respect him taking on real opposition and real challenges.”

Paul declared his Olympic plan, on the back of a visit to Paris where he flew out to support the current team’s fighters.
Team USA have not won a male boxing gold medal since Andre Ward completed the feat in 2004.
They picked up just one medal at this summer’s recent Olympics, with Omari Jones picking up a bronze.
But he believes he is the one to halt the downfall and bring glory on home soil.
Paul has always spoken highly of his own ability, putting a time-limit on his intentions to become world champion.
“If I was walking on water in front of everybody’s eyes, they would say I couldn’t swim,” he said.
Jake Paul names his fighter hit list which includes the likes of Conor McGregor, KSI, Alex Pereira & Tommy Fury
“When you take this path, and you’re in the top of a sport, and you got there in three-and-a-half years with the jealousy and hate and insecure people, all the time, of course, they’re going to critique and find any little thing that they can to try to bring me down.
“But what they don’t know is that it’s just making me bigger, just making me stronger, just making me more motivated to go ahead and become world champion.

“I believe in 2025 I will most likely be a world champion. I think I’m ready for it in the next couple of months here and I’m most likely going to go for it in 2025.
“It’s really just my God-given ability and willpower to do this.”
